Should I buy it? - AR15.COM

My boss has a decent collection, one of his toys includes a Colt Blue Label, Match HBAR with a Bushnell elite 6-24X scope.

I can have the rifle now, if I pay him $100 this week, $100 next month and a $1000 at Christmas time. I plan on taking the scope off and putting it on one of my varmint rifles and stick a good red dot scope on the AR.

Well, think this is a good deal, or should I keep looking?

Think about it.

$1200 for a Colt AR15.....

Or $700 for one you build yourself with a nice Aimpoint. 10 more mags. and a case of ammo. With enough left over for gas to the range.

Are you a Colt only person?

If so, then sure, grab it. If not, why not spend less and build?

IMHO:
$1200 seems a little steep for that rifle, plus it's a large hole lower so trading uppers can be a hassle.

Am I missing something? A nice Aimpoint, 10 mags, a case of ammo, and gas to the range pretty much eats up that $700.

OK had a hard time sleeping knowing that I could be spending $1200 on a rifle that I could bet $500 cheaper somewhere else.

Yes.
