I think Jones can win this race.
When he ran for Governor against Gray Davis in 2002, he got more votes than any other Republican in any race in the State.
I also think the Presidents landslide victory will equal a lot of votes for other Republicans in CA and the rest of the Nation.

Jones can't win, even if ALL of the registered Republcans in the state voted for him, he would still loose. The voter registration in Kalifornia is something like a 60%/30%/10% Dems/Repubs/others. Those are pretty tough political percentages. I wouldn't blame him for not putting any of his own money on the line because it would be like flushing money down the toliet.

The California Republican Party is a complete joke. In many districts, they don't even have Republican candidates running.  The CRP doesn't even have a candidate to run against Tom Torlakson for state senator, district 7. WTF is with that? I would think the Republicans have a good chance in that district. But no, they would rather sit on their ass and give Arnold blowjobs while he bans .50s.

It is very difficult to be a Republican in this state.
