Maybe you should also post this in Ohio's hometown forum?

ETA: Kerry may be an idiot, but I cant imagine him ignoring someone saying, hey, maybe you shouldnt go goose hunting since its out of season.

You won't here word of this on the media anyway if it has merit. They love Kerry and make sure and show him in the best light possible and have a way of helping him to explain away his mistakes.

Everyone over 16? must have to have a federal duck stamp.

In WY you also need a "hip" permit.  It provides the state with info where they can contact you for hunting surveys.

I know on game farms you can hunt anytime of year for upland birds, but I believe the migratory seasons are pretty cut and dried.

So are you saying he shot a goose out of season?

Pulled this off of Ohios game and fish

If this was true he would have been tagged and bagged so to speak.  I think this is an internet rumor.  Could be wrong as Ohio is a long way from NM.

In the Lake Erie Canada Goose Zone, the proposed goose season is October 20 through October 28, with a second split season opening December 8 and running through January 2. The Lake Erie Canada Goose Zone applies only to Canada geese and brant. Hunters may harvest light geese (snows, blues, Ross' and white fronts) within the Lake Erie Canada Goose Zone during the dates of the open goose season for the remainder of the North Zone. The goose season for the remainder of the North Zone would be October 20 through November 25, with a second split season December 1 through January 2. In the South Zone, goose season is expected to be October 27 - November 11 with a second split December 8 - January 30.

The first link in your post is dated 2000!

The second one is for the 2004 season.

It appears Kerry is a poacher????

edited because I don't know the difference between a 2 and 3.

I'm a LE park ranger in ohio and I can confirm that Kerry was legal.  If you look at the regs on ODNR's site the Canada Goose season for Ohio runs from Oct.  16 - Nov. 28.  Then it picks up again from Dec. 8 - Jan. 2 2005.  The daily bag limit is 2 per person.  Kerry was completely legal.

Edit:  He was in the North zone.
