Think that sums it up and it ain't good for Kerry... read that article and you will see why Karl Rove is as good as he is... you can see his hands all over it and a strategy that has been in the works and slowly unfolding for months!

Forget Florida. And Ohio. And Pennsylvania. The next President of the United States may well be elected in Michigan...Kerry could win both Ohio and Pennsylvania and still lose the election. If he loses Michigan.

As much as I want Kerry to lose the election, and as much as I want to see Michigan go for Bush (because it will therefore not be going to Kerry), I have to say that the author is over estimating the importance of Michigan in this election.

Ohio and Pennsylvania count for 41 votes. Michigan is 17.

Tomorrow, Kerry, who hasn't been to Michigan in weeks, will try to stop the bleeding with an appearance at Macomb County Community College.

3 blocks from my house. Bob Segar and Bon Jovi are playing a free concert. Senator Kerry is expected at 6:45, right when I should be pulling into my driveway. I'm sure that there will be roadblocks and traffic jams.

Reason # 44,792 why I'm not voting for Kerry!

True, but if Kerry has to spend time running around locking down Michigan, that's time, effort, and money that WON'T be spent in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

I'm all for seeing LESS political advertising. It has totally sucked to be in a "battleground" state this year -- we're been inundated with political-spam.

Great article!

I tell you what... I've been very impressed with all the Bush signs and stickers I've seen in the last couple of weeks. Dubya could very well take Michigan. Noone would be happier than me.

I'll drive by Macomb College (uh, my alma mater) and make ugly faces (not a stretch for me) at him for you guys if I get the chance. I don't do stuff like that, but I gotta make an exception for Lurch and spEdwards.

A-MEN... I still have a problem with her earlier insistence that the Ash borer problem was a National Emergency. The hurricanes in FLA kind of put things in perspective.

Some of the major points that I took from that article:

-If a candidate loses Detroit, they lose Michigan

-Blacks carry the Detroit vote (but the Sharpton tactic may not work)

-Detroit wants a Democrat but not one who supports same-sex marriage

-Having the official endorsement of the Arab vote, turns the Jewish voters to Bush

-The Polish voters got snubbed by sKerry - were praised by Bush

All of those things coming into play for the election give Bush a good chance to win it's 17 votes.
This looks promising.
