I have never seen or shot one, and a book that I am reading specifically states over and over again, that two down from safe, makes it semi auto, one down from safe puts it in full auto. I have played with a mak 90, and obviously it only has one click.
So my question is, is that correct? Unlike a m -16 where it is 2 over to full auto?

On a real FA AKM, there is an extra detent in the middle for the selector/safety.

It's a function of how the safety engages the disconnector.
