I would never spend that type of money on an AK47.

An engraved AK with gold inlay??

I won't go so low as to call it "polishing a turd", but isn't that equivalent to putting 16 coats of hand-rubbed laquer on a '92 Escort?  Oh, and gold tru-spoke wheels?[%|][BD][:X*]

that stock makes it look worthless.  Should have had a fixed folder.

That's a pretty nice ak. I don't know if i would be able to afford it though.

bah... humbug...

I wouldn't buy a $300 AK-47. What makes you think I'd buy that crap?

"War Trophy"... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is a "War Trophy". For me, a "War Trophy" would be my 9mm Brigadier saving my life with the last round in the chamber. That's a "War Trophy".

The pre-ban, full auto, folder might be worth that sort of money. But this looks like a gold engraved turd. Like putting diamonds on a pig.

Definite NO on the stock.

I like the AK, but in it's true config. It's not the sort of gun you dress up. I think the commemorative AR is pretty much in the same boat.

There's one guy at the local (Wisconsin) gun shows who only sells this type of commemorative stuff.

The 1920's Commemorative Thompson [with foregrip];

The Korean War Commemorative Thompson [without foregrip];

The Armed Forces Commemorative Colt 1911;

The Vietnam War Commemorative AR-15 (a preban blue label Colt!);

And, the aforementioned Vietnam Commemorative butthole stock AK-47.

But, perhaps the most "interesting" commemorative firearm was "The Armed Forces Commemorative UZI."  (I didn't know the US issued UZI's.....)  [rolleyes]

Mike

PS.  $1,600.00 seems a bit high; I seem to remember the AK being relatively inexpensive and going for around a grand even.
