We buried an uncle today and there were quite a few of us in attendance.  He was a navy veteran of WWII.  Folding the flag over his casket was a marine and three soldiers.  All were his children and grandchildren.

Two are about to be shipped out.  It got me to thinking about my uncles.  I started out with 5. Two were in the navy in WWII.  One was in the army in the same war.  Another served in Korea and another in Vietnam.

I saw those kids, and I say kids because they all looked so young, in their stiff dress uniforms.  The marine was in his dress blues and he had every piece of brass polished to the hilt.  It renewed my faith in our young people.  Maybe there is hope for our country after all.
