I have a Sendero 7mm Remington Magnum stainless/fluted. It is sweet. My friend can shoot the same hole at long distance, however, I can't shoot it worth a shit because I flinch! It is such a sweet gun that I am hesitant to sell it. |
i just spooged in my pants. |

How does 260Rem compare to 6.5-284 in that barrel length? -z |
It's about 100fps slower but it has the advantage of longer barrel life, less recoil, cheaper to reload better brass availability and I can get 20 in the mag. I originally considered 6.5-.284 but am now glad that I didn't Mark |
That's a short-action, right? What bullet are you using, and what velocity do you get? |
Yes it is a short action. (that was another advantage of not going the .284 route, although it might have worked) I shoot 142 Sierras and 139 Lapua Scenars. Lapua .243 cases Federal 210M primers 43gn Viht N160 I get approx 2830fps ( which is actually 100-150fps less that 6.5-.284) and 1/4moa accuracy OAL is 2.850" which fits inside the mag (just) From 200-1000yds is 29 1/2 min Mark |

HOLY COW!! I had that same gun and the same electrical tape. That thing had the largest magazine of any rifle ever. I don't think I ever had to reload. Open the bolt, there's a new round! And I don't think I ever missed with it. |
Holy shit Bro that was my first rifle, I loved that thing. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Hunter out... |

Your welcome... Here is my long range squrrel gun.. FN Mauser action (trued and lapped) reworked Bold trigger 12oz pull Shillen SS 1in12 barrel with Holland Break Richadson microfit stock Steel Epoxy beaded BSA Platinum 6-24 scope (is ok till I can afford better) leapold rings and bases. Cal is 6mm-284 Im shooting a 80 gr Hp at 3690 fps. Between the weight of the rifle and the break. There is very little recoil (about the same as a 22mag). You can spot your own shots. |

I think I blew it by starting this tread now I have no idea what I am gonna build I WANT IT ALL!!!!!

You gotta start by asking yerself what you want to do with this rifle. Bench rester?? Tactical scoped rifle? Cheaper to shoot?? Minimal recoil?? Brush buster?? Possible deer rifle?? etc. |
Hey, isn't that an MG42 mount? |
