In Before the Lock.

No big deal really - but 'For Sale' ads are not allowed anywhere except the appropriate forum.  Not the end of the world - just a common newbie mistake.  We're not below picking on newbies for entertainment here.

don't really think this is his for sale ad as it links to sportsmans guide.

Hope it works out for you. i bought one a few years ago and it was terrible. really blurry.

mike

Yup, a friend of mine bought one ... it was an un-usable piece O crap to me ....

The Burris is what I consider a minimum spotting scope ... $160 complete.

I could have saved you the trouble. its a POS. Blurry optics. I owned one. Its perfectly fine to pass along links to good deals, as Mike stated.

I've had decent experience with BSA scopes.

For a cheap spotter, I'd go  with the Russian Sibir (sp? ) optics. There are several makers actually.

My $800 Kowa is NOT 10x better than the Russian spotters.

yeah, its probably a big piece of crap. but for $65 bucks i figured its worth a chance, maybe i'll get lucky.

I figured it was ok to post links to good deals because of other links i have seen floating around the forums.    IE the dell ones amongst others.

As to picking on a noobie,  its cool just keep it in good taste.

Please post after trying it out. I'd be curious what you think about it. I never pick on Noobs unless they complain about scratches on their EQ, or ask about Tacpoints.

i'll let you know how it is.  i'm guessing it will be fine for short distances until i crank it up and the field of view goes to shit as does the pic quality.

have to admit IF it turns out to be decent, thats a pretty freakin good deal.  I can't justify paying 2-300 bucks right now for one.

I just got this 20X60 Tasco from Midway. Paid $69, and it works pretty good so far.

I bought this one to use for shooting and at the beach/lake/wherever. Works GREAT. It is cheaper on other sites. Good luck!

I hope it works out.  Every BSA rifle scope I have ever looked through has an yellow color and significant light blockage.  The only Russian spotting scope I ever looked through was literally unusable[ eye relief was about 1mm and the field of view about the size of a dime; but my shooting pal got it for $30, so he was happy (he's never used it).

Also note if it is a POS the SG will take it back with no problems. I sent a pair of boots back that I never wore (still new in box) about 1 1/2yr's after I got them.

i don't think we have ever had issues with the link to an occasional GOOD DEAL as long as it was not a sale ad by the poster. Sportsmans guide threads used to be pretty common on here. he is not selling it and sportsmans guide is not advertising it here.

mike

yup, no reason for the IBTL stuff.

Well like we all assumed and i took the risk... it was crap.

you could go to about 25x and then it would get fuzzy, even with adjusting the focus.  At 60x with the focus as crisp as i could get it, it was so dim and fuzzy it was worthless.  The half inch of  eye reliefe was absolute crap. (i was looking at stuff ruffly 250 yards away)

I'm sending it back to sportsmans guide and hopefully they refund my  $ on it.  Good thing they are located out of  St. Paul, which is close to me so if i have issues i could visit them.    hat

anyone have a place to find decent optics for target shooting out  to 1000yds?  and a good $ that won't make me  donate and organ and give plasma for half a year just to get it?
