African-American persuasian? There's NO such thing! in THAT context, they're either African or they are American, these is NO inbetween! They can even be an American who happens to be black or an African who happens to be white. Although, if you REALLY MUST be politically correct, one of the characters can be a gay black female with a hispanic surname. "Jessica Jackson Gonzalez".

BTW, IBTL

Do they both have to be African-American, or can one of them be just slightly brown like me?

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...

First is was the "n" word, then it was negro, then colored, then African-American, now its Black, but yet, they still call each other "n's".

I've thought about that situation, and here's my .02: It doesn't affect me one way or the other. If people want to be referred "black," "colored," "African-American," "melanin-enhanced" or whatever, it seems to me it's only polite to do so. It strikes me as no different from a guy whose name is  T. Cholmondely Frink III saying "Call me 'Trip.'" Ok, I'll call him "Trip."

As for how people within a group address each other, you have to admit that there's a big difference between your hunting buddy referring to you as a redneck and a stranger from New York doing it.

What happened to Cav?  His character had the most memorable line in any of the films, "CRACKA DOWN!"

I need more Cracka Down, baby.

Why not just use anyone?  Who cares what color somebody is?  Hell, you can use my name under whichever character you have.  I don't get offended by much.
