How does the current war in Iraq compare with Viet Nam, in numbers of casualties sustained over a given time? (i.e. month, week, year)

What were the total number of casualties in Viet Nam, when that war had been going on exactly as long as we have been in Iraq?

I know the casualties were far greater in Viet Nam...but I need some numbers.

thanks

IRAQ IS NOT VIETNAM.  That's the entire fact list you need.

From 1965-1975 58,000 Americans died in Vietnam, an average of 5,800 per year.

It's not exactly what you wanted but I hope it helps.
