Cheap 1911 frames. Buy a SA if you want a decent 1911 frame cheap. If you want the best, get a caspian. |

my 1911 frame cost $160.. but then again it was only an 80%er.

I haven't stopped drooling over those Caspian Titanium Recon Frames. Absolutely a work of art. SOme day when i grow up i'll buy one. lol

I had an Essex frame about 15 years ago, when their QC was really spotty. It got traded for a Glock the day before the AWB was passed. I've heard Essex has since cleaned up their act, but will probably go Caspian for my next. Great reputation for both quality and after-the-sale service.

+1 Brownells now sells them, so I suspect they’re OK. Still, I used one for a build about 20 years ago and it was pretty bad. I’ll never buy another one. |

I've got an Essex frame (low serial # 36XXX) with an Ithaca slide that I've won pin and plate matches with. I did have LaRocca do the trigger on it.

I've got an Essex frame with a GI kit on it, I've shot thousands of rounds and won a few shooting matches with it.....

Oh yeah? Well I got news for you! My Essex framed GI kit has won EVERY match it ever entered AND I used it to shoot the gun out of a bad guys hand at 200 yards! Seriously, mine's pretty good. Like I said, I must have gotten a good one. BTW, in '75, they were about $40 a pop! |
