Ok for my 200th post......... I wanna know what your favorite Johnny Cash song is.  For a man who recorded over 1500 songs in his life, there are alot to choose from!  I dont think i could pick a favorite but tonight i'll go with Cocaine Blues.

Johnny was a great artist/poet/social commentator. He was a country beatnick, a rebel. A troubled soul nearly all of his life. There will never be another like him.

Always liked "Home of the Blues", but I have to say that his cover of "Hurt" is the most fitting, affecting swan song an artist ever put to tape.

I heard that when Trent Reznor heard Cash's version for the first time, he cried and said it was Johnny Cash's song now.

That's a cool song. It was first recorded in 1959 by Hank Snow, IIRC.

Hurt sure is an awesome sad song when performed by the Man In Black.

<cover your ears, liberal band namecheck warning>

Pearl Jam's cover of twenty five minutes to go on the Live at Benaroyah Hall is rather awesome too.

Ring of Fire is a classic.  Social Distortion's got a great punk/rockabilly cover of it.  Those guys are great!

Boy named Sue, Folsom prison blues, one peice at a time, hurt, ghost riders in the sky... damn, all of it is great.
