Yeah, they are pushing $300k. Good luck finding one, they are rare. I heard there were only like six transferables.

The only way I know to get them is by pressing R1, R2, L1, R2, up, left, down, right, up, left, down, down, down in GTA: Vice City. Other than that, good luck.

A real electric motor driven mini-gun? Papered, transferable to a civilian? If you are asking here, you probably can't afford one.

The last one I saw advertised was listed for $120,000.00, this was several years ago.

I think its approx 40-60 for a demill and you can build one, if your a licensed manfacturer. There was one at Bulletfest, next time go see and ask questions.

I don't think it comes down to the fact if I could afford one, I would be in forbes if I could. Simply because even if you had a income of $70k a month a $120,000 for a gun is really pushing it.

Just curious, you know that whole knowledge thing. Would just like to know if any are even really for sale.

Some are transferable and in private hands, while it might not be listed in the EE, someone who has one Im sure would sell it for the right amount.

Hell I'll sell any of the stuff sitting at my house for the right money.

1) Miniguns start at $30k or so NEW

2) $250k-300k for a pre-86

3) Better have a HUGE ammo budget.... $10k in ammo for a single day at the range would be easily reachable with a .308 minigun....

And FYI a man-portable mini doesn't exist outside the movies -> too much power needed.....

I know, but they still don't deserve the "mini" title....Perhaps, "smaller gun in comparison but will still make you shit your pants gun"

There was one in Shotgun News (or was it Gun List) several years ago for ~$120k. The ad said it was the same one that they used in Predator (the movie with the two governors and the other guy that ran for governor) and was supposed to be back to stock form.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093773/trivia

The weapon Blain (Jesse Ventura) is using is a minigun. This is a weapon most commonly mounted on the side of a helicopter (or an aircraft carrier) and many, many modifications had to be made to make it useable in the film. It was powered via an electrical cable hidden down the front of Blain's trousers. Despite firing blanks, the actor had to wear a bulletproof vest to protect him from the violently ejecting cartridges. Had he been using live ammunition, the recoil would have been approximately 110 kg sideways force - about the same as lying on your back and trying to push an American football player into the air. Ammo for the 20-second firing sequence would have been 2,000 rounds x 12.5 grams per bullet = 25kg, all of which had to be carried in Ventura's backpack. Since the movie was made, a model of this weapon has been designed, changing the caliber and exchanging the electric motor for a 2 cycle gas engine, similiar to that of a weed-eater. It has never entered service in any armed forces, since the weapon is excessively heavy and impractical in an infantry role.

Who has a minigun in MN? is that thing considered a C&R?

Oh yeah, I couldn't afford the ammo, much less the gun.
