I'm currently a deployed soldier and even though Christmas is just over 2 months away, I'm trying to think of a gift for my entire family back home.  They've sent me a crapload of stuff while here in Asscrackistan.

Some of the most prized positions are the ones you bring back.
A flag you carried into battle, a scarf you bought from a street vendor, ugly pieces of local pottery or keepsakes make some of the best gifts..

Eh, I'm not a big fan of buying local crap.  And the american flag thing is getting cheesy.

A big gift certificate for the whole family could work....

Last year "the kids" in our family bought my parents a nice big new TV and DVD player.  Something everyone can enjoy.

Other ideas: a tree, a nice nativity set.
