I have WOW cable and internet.  Comcast is also in my area and mailed me a flyer for basically the same service.  I just spoke to a girl at WOW and said, you know comcast is giving me a great deal to switch over.  Before I could finish the sentence, she said, whats the price and package?  I told her and I am now saving over $21 a month.  She said they would give me that price for a year.  My GF has done this 2 years in a row and he bills are lower!

Last time I called my cable company it was to tell them to disconnect me and remove the feed cable to my house. DirecTV for me, please....

FWIW, cable in my area is early `80's technology at best, meaning it sucks.

Same here, cable sucks, crappy picture and very spotty internet access. I switched to DirecTV so I could get HDTV and this was over 3 years ago. I'm still waiting. DSL has been way more reliable.

I haven't heard many good things about Comcast at all.

Sounds like you're in an area where they HAVE to compete.  Wait until they undercut the competitor and they go out of business.  Your bills will start going up about 2 seconds after that happens.

VERY satisfied DirecTV customer since 1996 and Speakeasy DSL customer since 2001.

I agree, I am actually thinking about getting Direct TV as well.  I just cancelled my service for cable internet and signed up for  DSL.  Its almost 4 times as fast in my area.
