This is the first of what I hope will be a series of questions. I will try to keep a list of links from post to post as the series progresses.

It is my opinion that one of the many reasons that the founding fathers included the Second Amendment as part of the Constitution of the United States was to help the government from becoming to powerful, intrusive, etc and served as a vehicle to allow citizens not only to defend their newly formed country, but also to protect themselves from a such a government as described above.

There is a lot of talk about the government one day may try such things as arms confiscation, subverting itself to a 'world' governing body which infringed on out on sovereignty, etc etc.

Do you consider yourself a patriot that would rise up to protect a principle or principles????

Ok, a little ealboration....


        Government is made to govern the country, keep every thing in harmony. Not to controll every aspect of it. America over threw the colonial rule of the british because they wan't to suck all the profit out of America by taxing it. Now if we let the government get too strong and make us too weak by disarming us we are totally screwed. They could turn our country into a dictatorship. They could make us all slaves. And this is why I will do every thing in my power to make sure they don't.

All is well as long as the sheeple have gas in their SUVs, cable TV, supermarkets full of food, malls full of useless goods, free school lunches, fast food, don't have to take responsibility for their actions and politicians who promise to take care of their every need.

What king was it that got his head chopped of? He had his entire royal guard and they still couldn't defend themselves agenst unarmed civilans. Why you ask? Numbers how many military personal do you think there are that would actually defend the government. Now how many Americans would rise up and fight? That is how.

I  understand  we all have families,  that is even more of a reason  to fight when the time  comes.
Better us fighting  tyrants/terrorists vs  leaving  women & children  having to defend for themselves at their mercy.
Like that saying  goes, we  may  get  hanged,but we'll surely  get hanged if we  do  it alone.

I've  tried  to  get  my  chit together,kinda like a spare  tire,never know when you'll end up needing it.

strictness sense of the word.

The term patriot was a term used to discribe the people who opposed the British rule. In this case we would be considered patriots because we oppose the rule.

The term loyalist was used to dicribe people who lsupported the British rule. In this case the term loyalist would be used to dicribe those that would fight for the government.

Copied this right out of my SS book when it was dissusing the building of America after the revolutionary war.


Many Americans felt that the British government had had too much power over them. As a result, Americans wanted to limit the power of the national government.


Can you see where I'm going with that?
