Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Who here has a summerhome or a cabin?

Who here has a summerhome or a cabin? You know a nice little place in the country where you escape to or hunt from.

Right now I have some family property in SW Wisconsin, but I was thinking of building a small cabin somewhere more remote. Share with me some good locations that you have chosen for such a place. I would prefer to remain near forest.

My wife and I have 80 acres in north central Missouri.  We have spent the last 3 1/2 years building a cabin (small log home really, definitely NOT a "Daniel Boone" kind of a cabin).  It has a 2-acre pond with very, very excellent fishing, deer, turkey, small game, food plots--pretty much a paradise.  We will retire there if everything works out.
