After a failed attempt to build my own AR pistol, I bought myself a new Bushmaster Carbon 15 "No Ban" pistol. Just like the one in the link.

A warning for those trying to buy one. Be careful what you are ordering. I told my local dealer what I wanted, and he assured me several different times that he had located the new "No Ban" Carbon 15 pistol from Bushmaster. When infact he was about to order me a post ban model.

I also paid much less than what these guys at gunbroker are chargeing too. $750 plus tax.

I just don't get it.

What do those do that varoius other handguns or an appropriate carbine aren't going to do a hell of a lot better?

5.56 is going to be inefficient has hell out of so short a barrel.

The thing looks to be useless for actuall "pistol hold" shooting.

But it's not long enough for accurate use in other holds.

So again, what's the big to do with these?  I'm not trying to attack, I'm just trying to understand .

I honestly don't have a practical answer for you. I already have about six AR's in just about all configurations. several AK's, 2 FAL's, 2 SKS's, an M1, M1A M1 Carbine,  3 tricked out 10/22's, Rem 700 LTR, several bolt action and lever action hunting rifles, 3 different Daewoo models......you name it and I most likely have it. I have about 20 different pistols from 357 revolver, to DE 50AE and everything in between. Glock HK Sig SA 1911's 44 MAG SRH...... so this is just another addition to my collection. Sorry but that is all it is...

TorF,

Check the link or somebody fix it for me, the no ban model has a MB but the big difference is the barrel schroud or Hand Guard that was not allowed in the Ban.

They have a unique gas system that eliminates the need for a buffer tube.

I like the buffer-less function of the OA-93 better, but the looks of the Carbon 15 better.

no worries boys - that is why the market is great - if there is a need/want people will fill it and it sounds like some like the Bushy look and some like it tubeless...

at least we are not French

Yes, I have a pistol barrel and FF tube, plus the hard to find pistol buffer system.
