Stupid question but everyone I ask does'nt know
and I can't find the answer any where,so here
it goes......

How many sq. feet are in a acre?

43,560 sq. ft. You can look it up in the back of most dictionaries.

Divide number of square rods by 160 or square chains by 10.

272.25 sq. ft. = 1 sq. rod.

16 sq. rods = 1 sq. chain

160 sq. rods or 10 sq. chains = 1 acre.

640 acres = sq. mile (a section)

36 sq. miles / 36 sections = one township
