I know! We went to the source.
Actual phone call text from dialpad.com. It was when I was at boarding school, and we couldn't leave the dorm after 9:45 PM. You had to amuse yourself somehow. Dialpad was free long distance, AOL white pages our other friend.
Jon is a classmate of mine from Alabama. Mr. Wood was a guy in Louisiana, and had a real thick accent from the area.
*ring*
Mr. Chuck Wood: Hello?
Jon: Hello. Is this Mr. Chuck Wood?
Mr. Wood: Yes. Yes it is.
Jon: Are you aware, sir, that your name reversed is "Wood Chuck"?
Mr. Wood: Yes, I was aware of that.
Jon: Well then, how much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood, Chuck Wood?
Mr. Wood: Oh, about five cords.
*hang up*

So there you go. Five cords.
The standard cord is a pile of wood 4 feet high, 4 feet wide and 8 feet long. It occupies 128 cubic feet of space, but does not actually contain 128 cubic feet of wood because of the air spaces.
