I want to listen to books through my mp3 player while I work out.  Most of what I want to listen to are only available on tape.  What I plan to do is to simply put the tape in my walkman, connect a cable from the headphone jack to the input jack on my soundcard, and record them that way.  Does anybody have a better solution?

Thats what I would do if I were going to do it that way.  but really, a tape player is $10, I would just get a tape player.

Buy them on CD (or borrow from the library) then rip to mp3.

Ya, you can do that.  You'll want a free program called Audiograbber. It will allow you to record in Mp3, wav, and WMA in many bitrates. It also allows you to split tracks which is nice.

Cool link.  I'll continue to watch this list to see if what I'm interested in shows up.

Nice, but $149?  I think I'll stick with my original solution before going with this.
