Amazing what owning a business can do, even if it's not an active one.
Just got invited as an honerary chairman for the Florida delegation of the Business Advisory Council, which is going to have a dinner where the President will attend! So, I realize that I'll probably be way the hell at the other end of the room, but DAMN that's cool! Only cost me a small donation, too! (of course...  )NEATO, man!  ETA: Oh, and my name's going to appear in an ad in the Wall Street Journal! Here's my 15

Less than half what they were asking! (Like a good greedy little capitalist, I negotiated. ) Actually, THEY came to ME and invited me. The donation was, of course, required, but the invitation came from out of the blue. |

I got the same offer two years ago. They used to call me all the time till I told them I couldnt vote.
ETA: I think they ask everyone who has an S corp. I have one as a contract employee, I dont really have a business or create anything but my labor. |
