So, you're about to raid a meth lab or crack house with a team, and you have your choice of either the MP5 or UZI, both full-auto. Which would you pick?

Benelli M1 12 gauge tactical with ghost rings.

UZI. i like the mag well placement, easy in emergency's, its pretty hard to screw up. i've used both,  i liked the MP5, but changing mags was a pain imho.

Get a MUZI-5.

The UZI could be suppressed as well, if you want.

Colt 9mm SMG. Its ergonomics are way better than either of those two. The MP5 doesnt even have last shot lock back making reloads a pain in the ass, as you have to manually lock back the bolt to change mags.

Neither; Give me a SAIGA 12K/U with Kobra red-dot.

If you want to bust a meth lab use a MP5, the owners will probably have Uzis

What about avalibility of lights and other goodies for both weapons? Id think the MP5 has the uzi beat in that regard. a light could swing a battle very easily

I posted this because worldwide the UZI and the HK MP5 are the dominant submachine guns. Sure, there are others - Glock 18, Beretta 93R, Steyr TPP, etc.

As for me, I would go with the UZI, or mini-UZI, not micro-UZI.

The MP5 is so much more accurate, controllable, and relieable than the UZI its not even a fair comparison.

I'll take a MP5-N 9mm :)

I had an oppurtunity to shoot both MP5s, and you've really got to hold on when firing the 10mm. It was definitely a hand full.

Ditto... plus my lack of familiarity with the Uzi and any HK under .308 would be a problem

Hehe I bet you loved it!

The 10mm is not .40 S&W, a real 10mm, so I guess it does accumulate during full auto. I haven't shot either, but I think I will prefer MP5SD simply because I think it would have better suppression and I'm not a big build anyway. But I would love to try them.

Having fired an MP5SD and a semi uzi, I would go with the MP5. It is a far superior weapon, in every regard.

Yeah, it was a real 10mm Auto, and not 40S&W, it was really cool. HK even paid for the ammo! Fired 10 rounds in 3 bursts. It even had a last round bolt hold open, that is missing from the 9mm MP5s.

I agree, you're right in a CQC scenario the MP5SD would be my choice simply you can pretty much hose the area. The roller locked bolt cuts down on quite a bit of the recoil. The Uzi has a straight blow back and is ultra-simple, just a spring hold the bolt closed and is heavier than the MP5. One thing I didn't like about the Uzi is the grip safety, your hand gets tired holding it down because it take quite a bit of strenght to deactivate it.

A suppressed MP5K, preferably, or a full-size if necessary.

Uzis are fun, but MP5s are THE 9mm subgun for a reason.  It's the best product HK has made or ever will make.

Although I have never shot it, I really like the look and size of the MP5-K.

That's a tough choice there, but I think a supressed 10mm MP5 would be my choice in the end.

Never fired or even held either, so that opinion may change with experience.

that's easy, the SW5/Special weapons 94 clone.

the bad guy seeing me franticly trying to clear the FTF will create such sympothy, it'll bring them to their knees.

with out a shot fired...SERIOUSLY.
