People that are injured in such a fashion usually dont live too long.  They have a lot of medical complications that can be very fatal.  I wouldnt doubt an infection or blood clot.

On a side note, its interesting that if he was poor he would never have had the ability to buy a horse. And would have been alive today.  Same thing with Payne Stewart. If sucked at golf he would have been an average guy and no crash in a Lear jet.  So, money is evil, everyone send me all your money!

That is sad, although, I believe, he put the benefits of stem cell research to himself over the lives contained in the stem cells. He was courageous and fought with all that he was. He was actually able to stand for a limited amount of time and go off of life support for 2 hours.

He was a good guy and didnt deserve what happened to him. I was born in '72 so he was like the real deal "Superman." He also got it on with Jane Seymour too.

... that's odd, I could have sworn I heard he was making some unprecedented strides in getting some mobility back. Stuff that was nearly impossible to do after trauma similarly to his.

Warlord: I heard it on the Drudge Sunday night radio program. A repoter called the story in.

On the Drudge website:

Nikki Finke in Los Angeles is reporting that actor Christopher Reeve is dead, according to sources close to the actor. He died suddenly Sunday. News of his death has not been reported publicly yet. His family will make an announcement Monday at the earliest. Reeve was just mentioned Friday in the second live presidential debate by John Kerry. Noting he was a friend of the paralysed Reeve, Kerry said he was in favor of further stem cell research because Reeve could walk again one day thanks to such science....

Got some heartless bastards on here, LOL

I'm conflicted myself.  He was fucked up pretty bad, but I hate horses and you have to know riding them that way that they do stupid shit that could kill you.   As far as being paralyzed, I would rather be dead myself.  That is not a life, being a quad.

He was a liberal as well, so I'm not skipping a beat in my step over this news.

Taxman, cause of death is given as an infection.

In an earlier interview, Reeve said he had had three infections earlier this year.
