I need some good cowboy western style shit kicker boots. Ill be using them mostly for ranch work. Any suggestions?

Red Wing Boots. Not the most traditional, but the pair I have are comfortable, durable, and stylish.

I have Justin cowboy style 'work' boots. They are quite comformtable and have worn nicely. I would highly recommend them.

Yup. But I usually just wear hiking and hunting boots. Such as Danner hunting boots.

I wouldn't exactly call them cowboy boots, but these Reebok hiking boots I have are pretty good. Got them for $20 at the Reebok outlet in Gurnee Mills, Gurnee IL.

If you really want genuine cowboy boots, my dad has had good luck with Wal-Mart's boots. Red Wing also makes good boots, but the prices are out of control.

I dont want them to be cheap and crappy. By shit kicker I mean ill literally be using them to kick shit around, walk around in mud, water, etc.

Generally just a good durable cowboy work boot.

Cowboy boots are made for riding and have little use elsewhere. Get real boots if your not riding.

If you're thinking of getting a steel-toe, I wouldn't suggest it. Unless required by the place you work, steel-toes can cause ingrown toe nails and are generally less comfortable than a non-steel-toe boot.

So are you telling me theyre no cowboy boots that are mostly made for working and a little riding?

Ya I know cowboy boots are made mostly for riding, but theres a roper heel that works great as work heel. In my opinion.

So nobody here works around a ranch in Tony Lamas, Dan Posts, Double-Hs, Luccheses, Ariats, etc?

I really liked my Double-H for working. Quick to slip on in the morning or late at night if I needed to run outside for whatever reason. They have both steel toes and rubber sole models, which is nice, since with the winters up here in MN, leather soles are not always the most conducive to keeping you vertical on ice

I either wear Double H or my Caterpillar work boots.

Oh, and I am from TX too, just living up here until I can afford my ranch back home

I had a pair of ariat Ropers that were one of the most comfortable pair of cowboy boots I have ever had. I now wear lightweight Redwing Chukkas in the summer and Danner Elk Hunter boots in the winter. If I was ever to buy cowboy style boots again I would pick up the ariats again.
