Quoted: I once had a prescription of Ambien for insomnia.
On the one hand, they worked like a champ. One little pill and POW, it's 10 o'clock the next day.
On the other hand, the last few hours before I fell asleep were also wiped from my memory. What I watched on TV, the chapter I read in a book, the sex I had with my girlfriend ... ALL GONE. I've never done drugs and the mind-altering affects were more than I cared for.
But hooo boy that was some good sleep though.

Yep, the last hour or so before bed is pretty much erased from memory for me too. Once I took an Ambien because I was all wound up and it was way past bedtime, I guess I bid on a bunch of stuff on eBay and ordered some stuff online from somewhere. The next day I thought I remembered ordering something (because one of my credit cards was out on my desk) but couldn't remember what or from where. I checked my computer's history and everything, not a clue. 3 days later I got a call from FAC telling me the AK folding stock I'd ordered was out of stock and would be in in 2 weeks or so. They told me the rest of my order was ready to ship. I asked what else I'd ordered, it was stuff I definitely didn't need. I cancelled the order.
I also get dizzy spells the next morning, as if it's still working and I'm fighting it to wake up.
My wife gets visual hallucinations on it.
We don't have it in the house anymore, Tylenol PM or a couple Jager shots are fine with me.
