For an audience of fence sitters kerry doesnt seem to be saying the right things.

Bush looks comfortable.

They both seem overly hostile in their answers tonight, IMO.

I'd lower the intensity level a bit if I was advising either of them.

So far Bush looks pretty good for a change.

I've got the TV tuned to the debate but I've got the volume turned down.  The first "Undecided" voter that asks GW if he takes personal responsibility for the troops killed over there would just have me breakin' shit in the house anyway.

That audience is about as "Neutral" as Jack the Ripper in a swingers club.

My friend just called, he's a slightly left sitting fence sitter... he thinks Bush is doing bad, better than the other night, but still thinks he's not doing well.

The audience has been certified by the Gallup Poll to be undecided.

I missed the first debate.

But the Pres. seems comfortable and on his game tonight.

I missed about 20mins. tonight but so far I don't see anyone in a solid lead.

Kerry supporters will think he's doing great and Bush bad. And vice versa.

So far.

Bush is looking good.  The less formal format suits him better.  Only 1/2 hour more.  We need a good bounce from this.  I wish he would have hit the UN harder in the Bribery Scandal.

I'll need to turn the channel when this is over so I don't have to look at Kerry's wife again.

I'm not a big poster on AR-15, but I'm proud to state that I started the October 8th Presidential Debate thread on FreeRepublic.com which now has almost 3,900 replies.

Kerry is waffliing on abortion. Bush just kicked his ass on that one.

I think Bush won that one, but not by as much as he lost the last one.

The WMD/Iraq arguement sounds weak to me, but I've always been skeptical on that one.

Kerry's a snake.

The federal funding of abortion question, can anyone please tell me if that was a yes or no?!?!?!
And what do you think of Bush's interupting the moderater about going into Iraq alone, and the leaders that followed us, was the statement worth the serious breach in rules, I think yes, but want to know what you think.

Kerry will use federal money for abortion for "people who couldn't afford to exercise their right to choose otherwise" A mistake politically IMO, but one his base will be happy with.

I don't think breaking the rules/interrupting the moderator/talking over his statement was wise, that's the sort of thing he gets criticised for on diplomacy generally.

Bush HAD to show what an OUTRAGEOUS statement that sKerry had made saying that the USA had gone it alone.

Tell that to the mother & family in England that just lost their son or daughter in  Iraq.  Or the family in Poland, or any of the other allied countries.

BUSH COULDN'T LET THAT OUTRAGE STAND.

I don't have a problem with him interupting the moderator.

I listened to most of it on the radio, which is a better test than TV because you do not get all of the crap over who scowled or looked orange and all the visual crap that does not really matter.

Kerry was much more on the defensive tonight and Bush was on his game.

What I heard many times was Kerry stammering and stuttering and several LONG pauses. If Bush had done that the media would be screaming that he once again was slaughtered.

Who wants to bet that we do not hear even one word about it when Kerry does it?

I also have not yet heard one talking head point out that Kerry never answers questions, especially when someone asks for specific plans. "I have a better plan", "I have a plan that will work better", I have a faster plan", and for the second time in as many debates, "I have a plan, just go to my website and look at it". I guess if you are a moron (read Democrat) if you say it enough times, you really do not need any details.
