Kinda hard to ignore the elders when Tony Knowles recognized them as sovereign governments.  You guys have it easy, with maybe 100 "tribes."  Here, by governer decree, we recognize 500+ sovereign entities.

The Native Claims Settlement Act was supposed to end this nonsense by giving them a billion bucks back in the 70's.  It became the new starting line and turned them into political activists instead.

It will get much worse before it gets better.
