Read the other day in American Rifleman that there was an impromptu "study" between the two rifles and which owner preferes a Ford or a Chevy. 80% of the time the 700 fans liked Ford's and same with the 70/chevy thing. Bizzar, but for the record I'm a 700/FORD fan all the way. For some reason I've always prefered Remingtons even when I was a kid and just liked to look at/read about guns. I guess it's like the 7/14 Carrot thing.

I know a guy who did a "30.06 against a Dodge Dakota" kinda thing.   He was out hunting deer and saw a buck off the side of the road.  He got so excited he jumped out of his truck, laid his rifle down across the side of the bed and took a shot at the "deer".  Trouble was he was shooting across the bed of his truck with a scoped rifle.    The bullet impacted the inside wall of the top of the truck bed about 3/8 from the top of the bed and BLEW a nice ragged hole out the other side of his bed.

The icing on the cake was the "deer" was a prop setup by the local game and fish guys who jumped out and gave him a citation.

he was not a happy camper.
