Media Advisory -- Air Force leadership to fly on V-22

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION NEW RIVER, N.C. -- The Honorable James G. Roche, secretary of  the Air Force, Gen. John P. Jumper, chief of staff of the Air Force, Mr. Thomas W. O'Connell,  assistant secretary of defense for Special Operations and Low-intensity Conflict, and Gen.
Bryan D. Brown, commanding general of Special Operations Command, will visit MCAS New River Oct. 8.  

The gentlemen will take separate orientation flights aboard V-22 Osprey aircraft. Gen. Jumper is
scheduled to co-pilot a V-22 and Gen. Brown is scheduled to parachute out of a V-22.

Media desiring to cover this event must contact MCAS New River Public Affairs at (910) 449-4040 no later than 4 pm Thursday, Oct. 7.

USMC Aviation: "Hmmm... we have to get somebody to fly on this thing to get some good publicity.  Who do we know that's dumb enough to do that?"

Actually, I think it's a cool aircraft in concept.  I hope they get the bugs worked out.  I haven't kept up on it's status lately.
