Your amount of pain is irrelavant.
Never, ever, take any pills more often than prescribed. If the pain is so bad that the pills aren't doing their job you need stronger pills. Ask for vicatin, it's strong and effective. SGatr15 |

Yeah, having bone removed will do that to you. It will just take a little time. Most importantly, do not disurb the clot you have in the socket. If you rinse/suck that out then you will end up with a dry socket and that hurts for a longer time.

Vicoden is the same thing as Lortab, Both of them are Hydrocodone only the names are different because of the manufacture. He could get Hydrocode (lortab or Vicoden) in a higher dosage such as 7.5 or 10mg's. You may even want to ask for Percocet, Endocet (both are Oxycodone) in either 5mg or 7.5mg. Oxycodone is a suped up Hydrocodone of sorts so you would be taking less Actetomenaphen but tratin your pain better with Oxycodone instead of the Hydrocodone Also, I have had Doc's tell me that taking 2- 5mg lortabs at the same time is okay. As long as you do not go over the 4,000Mg of Acteomenephen a day. |

On the bottle it says "one to two tablets every 4-6 hours" so two was ok to take.
But what if I still am in pain after that. Like right now. How much should I put up with? Or should I tell him? Should I just live through it and see what tommorow will be like? |

You can continue to take 2 every 4 hours; studies have shown that combining NSAIDs like ibuprofen with narcotics can have a synergistic effect. So you can also take 4 OTC ibuprofen every 6 hours. If that doesn't provide enough relief, talk to the dentist about a higher concentration hydrocodone. Most dentists will not prescribe things like percodan, percocet, oxycontin, etc. Be careful of the acetaminophen dose. What you have now has 500mg; Lortab 7.5 has 500mg as well, but Vicodin ES has 750. Norco 10 has 325. Max daily dose of acetaminophen is generally around 6000mg/24hrs. A one time toxic dose is anything over 7gms for an adult.
