Well I have been a machinist for the last  10 years, been doing it ever since i got out of high school... really am bored with it, and the shopi work for is run by  a man who has no  idea how to run a business, i think he will be out of business by this time next year., the only reason I stay  is because he pays me good.  
    So to my original question,  I am thinking of going to school to deal poker, I hear they make great tips and the work looks pretty easy, so if their are any dealers here, let me know what you think of it..  I am ready for a career change but not sure what too do yet.......  

While not a poker dealer, I have worked casino Suveillance for over 10 years. Here in Iowa our full time dealers average around $17.00-$19.00 and hour with tips pulled together for each shift; also get a 20 minute break every hour and 20 minutes. I will warn you that during the slow times, I have seen dealers bring home as little as $8.00 an hour, plus not even get their 40 hours.

thanks  Tactical, all info is greatly appericated........  tough decision to change careers,  but lets just say  if  I do I will keep all my tools in storage in case I change my mind.
