IAF strikes kill Islamic Jihad, Aksa Brigades members
By MARGOT DUDKEVITCH

An IAF aircraft fired a missile Tuesday night at a group of armed Palestinians in the Jabalya refugee camp in north Gaza, killing two and wounding eight others, witnesses and Palestinian security sources said.

The men, reportedly members of the Aksa Martyrs' Brigades, were preparing to attack IDF forces, according to witnesses and the militant group.

The wounded included six civilians and two Aksa Brigades' members.

Several hours earlier, two members of the Islamic Jihad were killed and three Palestinian bystanders were lightly wounded Tuesday evening when IAF missiles hit a Subaru car traveling northwest of Gaza City, not far from the Sha'ti refugee camp.

Bashir Dabash, 40, was the head of the military arm of the Islamic Jihad in Gaza. He is one of the most senior terrorists killed in IAF striks in Gaza.

Security officials said Dabash is responsible for numerous terror attacks and the deaths of eight Israeli civilians and soldiers. Islamic Jihad leaders vowed revenge and declared that their response will be "painful and deep inside the Zionist entity."

According to security officials Dabesh was directly involved in attempting to infiltrate Israeli communities and IDF posts in the Gaza Strip as well as into Israel.

"Bashir Dabash has ended his career," head of IDF Operations Directorate Brig.-Gen. Yisrael Ziv told reporters after the strike.

Some of the attacks he was responsible for include the infiltration into Netzarim last year in which three soldiers were killed, dispatching of three terrorists who infiiltrated an IDF post near the Erez industrial site in June last year in which four soldiers were killed and the terorrists who shot and killed the rabbi from Netzer Hazani as he drove in his vehicle in December 2002.

The second person killed was Zarees Alareer, also a member of the Islamic Jihad.

Supporters of Islamic Jihad in Gaza responded to the killing with anger and promised revenge.

Witnesses said one missile hit the car, which had two passengers in it, sending the vehicle bursting into flames. Another missile missed the vehicle.
