IMO, Edwards did poorly in the primary debates, and that was against people with similar views. Unless Cheney has a W moment, he will easily appear the victor.

On substance, Cheney wins easily.
But I FULLY expect Edwards to use his slick talking, word smithing, trial lawyer BS to try to trip up Cheney. Edwarsd didn't make millions as a slime ball lawyer cuz he was inept as misrepresenting the facts. |

Good point, to a point. I hope you are right. IF Cheney lets him, Edwards can make ALL SORTS of unfounded allegations, as your typical slimeball PI lawyer would. IF CHeney lets him, Edwards can set the entire tone of the debate. "Halliburton, Halliburtin, Halliburton, payoffs, no bid contracts, corporate scandals, 1,000 dead GI's, no WMD's...." - it would be REAL easy for Edwards to essentially lie his way into putting Cheney on the defensive. |

True. The conundrum the Dems find themselves in is in having to 1. Use all sorts of inflammatory rheotirc to keep the emotional hell fire enflamed in the rabid DU types, AND 2. Use reasoned logical arguments to appeal to the moderates still undeciede. Tought to do at the same time, but I'll GUARANTEE you their WILL be some red meat tonite for the FAR left base Kery needs. |
