POLISH PRESIDENT SLAMS KERRY AFTER DEBATE SNUB

Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski has slammed Dem president hopeful John Kerry for not recognizing Poland's contributions and sacrifice to the war in Iraq.

"It is sad that a senator with 20 years of experience does not recognize Polish contribution. This is immoral," Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski told FACTS in an interview commenting on the US Presidential Debate.

"It is sad that a senator with 20 years of experience underestimates Polish sacrifice, this is sad."

"There is one thing which should be stated clearly: this coalition is not just the United States, Great Britain, Australia alone; it also involves participation of Polish, Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Spanish soldiers who have died. It is immoral not to recognize the involvement we contributed based on our conviction that there should be unity in fighting terrorism, that there was a need to display international solidarity and that Saddam Hussein was a dangerous individual of this world."

"President Bush acted like a real Texan gentleman, he made sure to show appreciation for other countries' involvement in the coalition," Kwasniewski pointed out.

I see, so Kerry has now managed to piss off one of the two countries in the world that Bush has not alienated.

God bless Poland, the people who suffered the most at the hands of the two major tyrannies of the 20th Century, Communism and Nazism.  Sickening to see a gold-digging liar like Kerry slander such fine people.

ETA, Poland SF still use the beloved Browining High Power, IIRC.  Even more reasons to love them!

But, but, but President Bush has alienated our NATO allies with his go it alone policy in Iraq! And, and  John Kerry is going to re-establish our credibility with the international community, and rectify the rifts with our forgein allies! John Kerry is going to make it all better again, he said so!

Bush lied, thousands died!

(it's called sarcasm)

ETA - The Polish are probably one of the closest allies that we have in the world today! They are making me very proud of my Polish heritage!

Fuck that shit - both of those asshats were WRONG, IMO.

As far as I recall, the FOUR countries in the actual coalition that went into Iraq were:

Great Britain, Australia, Denmark, Netherlands.

I distinctly remember a briefing early on in the war, where representatives from the U.S. and thosue four nations were present.

Poland - as far as I know - did not join until the war was arleady underway.

So sure, Kerry forgot Poland and was inaccurate - but Bush was just as inaccurate, by saying that the original coalition was Britain, Australia and Poland.

Asshats - all of them

From what I read, Poland's involvement at the beginning was active but very low profile due to the nature of their Special Forces.

Possible - but it's not like Denmark or Holland had very much involvement.

I have to say that at the time, I thought it was EXTREMELY CLASSY of the Americans to have the Danish and Dutch commanders present at the new conference/briefing (considering what tiny little piss-ant countries they are ).  I mean, sure they were part of the coalition, but compared to the British and Australian contingents, they really didn't contribute very much at all.

Worse, Kerry is pissing off the people who are willing to help. Who gives a rat's ass about the rest of them. If it wasn't for the trade surplus they enjoy, that pays for their free health care, they'd be funding the terrorists.

They alienated themselves. President Bush does not control their ability to make bad decisions. If he did, those countries who opposed the coalition never would have been profiting by violating sanctions, or selling weaponry to Iraq even during the war, among other things.

Kerry, on the other hand, is merely an ingrate. He always has been, always will be.

As a Polish American, I can tell you the Polish people have a long, storied history of bravery in subjugation while longing,  and fighting,  for freedom.

Makes them more ready to help the Iraqis who are of the same mind.

And better able to spot a French weasel like Kerry.

The Polish GROM (SF) did paricapate from the beginning.  I went to Midnight Mass with them last Christmas.  Its been along time since I went to a Polish mass.  The Polish President sent all the SF teams Christmas trees from Poland last year here in Iraq.  By the way they carry M4A1 carbines.

Polish special forces conducted raids on the very first night of the war. They have been a strong supporter since the beginning.

Oh well - shows how much I know

It's a shame they weren't included in the press conference at the begining of the war - I guess they really did want to keep a low profile.

The Polish goverment actually got very upset because we let US reporters take pictures of them when they turned the Basra oil terminal and the Shah E Kaht waterway over to US and Royal Marines.

I remember reading a book by Douglas Bader, WWII Spitfire ace from Britain.  He said the most ferocious, tenacious, fearless pilots he ever commanded were the Poles.  His only complaint was that they would disobey a direct order and engage the enemy, regardless of number, every time.  Nothing would work to reign them in, except threatening to ground them.

That got their attention, because then they wouldn't be able to kill Germans.

Cheers to Poland, well done gents.

Wait a damned minute!  Poland can't be pissed at Kerry.  Kerry's the only one that build a "true" coalition and all the foriegn leaders back him.  Haven't you people been watching TV?

On the first anniversary of V-E Day, London hosted a parade of the victorious Allies.  Even the Fijians were represented, though their contribution to the war effort was miniscule.  Sadly, Poland was not represented in spite of the valiant scarifices of her soldiers, sailors and airmen.  Churchill was by then out of office having been replaced by a Communist-leaning socialist government. The Labour Government would not permit the Poles to participate because they were certain it would irritate if not anger Stalin.  A very good argument can be made to support the position that had it not been for the Polish Squadrons, the Luftwaffe would have successfully swept the RAF from the skies during the Battle of Brittain.  Churchill said that the horrible treatment of the Poles by the Brit government was for him one of the lowest points in English history.

Surely Kerry, who is quite the Internationalist, knows about the Poles and their contributions.  Only an arrogant, self-absorbed effing MORON would say anything dismissive of the Poles.

Trust me, the Poles have long memories.
