There is no easy way to type this. There is a man that I have known for about 4 years now. He lives just down the road from me and I have worked with him before on various projects. He is an elderly gentleman and he lives by himself because he got divorced a few years back. He has always acted a little strange but I just attributed it to his being Austrian. Once when I was in walmart I swore that I saw him dressed like a woman but I wasnt sure and just passed it off as nothing.

Well earlier today my brother called me and told me he had a disturbing experience at Walmart. He had put his cart up and was going to his truck to leave and there was a woman waiting near a car beside my brothers truck but my brother just walked past. But then the woman called out to him in a passable womans voice and spoke his name. Sure enough my brother turns around and comes face to face with my neighbor (whom he has met before but not like this) dressed in womens clothing. I had been suspicious that maybe my neighbor was a cross dresser but it turns out it was much stranger than that. My neighbor admitted to be a transexual. He looks like a man but was born.........well I dont need to go into details. Apparantly at certain times he dresses up in womens clothing and goes by a womans name but most of the time he's a man.

He hinted to my brother that maybe soon he will be getting an 'operation' but whether he will come out of that as man or woman is yet to be seen. My brother promised he wouldnt tell anyone but of course he just couldnt resist but to tell me. As far as my neighbor knows I have no clue. I have been around this man alot and we are pretty good friends despite a wide age gap. I just dont know how to act around him now or what to say. And if he comes out of that operation as a woman I dont know if ill ever be able to speak to him again. Not out of anger but just because it would be too WEIRD.

If by any snowballs chance in hell anyone here has had a similar experience PLEASE advise.

What do you call this? "The truth about DICK!!"?

It could be worse, two doors down from me 4 daughters all went to the same university:

The first daughter can't think of her name came home from college pregnant and married!

The second ,Carla came home had an operation and became Keith!

The Third daughter Mary came back with her lesbian lover!

The fourth Daughter Joanie joined the army went airborne and even completed Ranger school, She da' man! However she did marry a guy!

If this person is your friend, treat him/her like your friend.  WTF, are you worried it might be catching or something?  Is friendship so cheap to you that you would throw it away for anything short of betrayal?  Snap out of it bro.

He is still your neighbor... doesn't matter what snip snip he gets done, because obviously he is having some inner turmoil about it... and always has, I'm sure.

Just be happy for em.  Looking at the broader perspective of things in this country, I think the Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender community is the least of our worries.

We've got a million kids sticking forks in babies heads (And I can understand the first trimester abortion under certain circumstances, but don't try and tell me they are always rape/incest)

Not to mention they are trying to take our guns away... trying to make YOU pay for every crackhead's healthcare, trying to stupidfy you're kid because there is too much of a gap between him and (insert minority group here, not Asians, they whip White ass)...

I've got over a dozen gay/bi/trans friends and I'd cover their sixes any day of the week...

And I should remind everyone that there is the Pink Pistols organization... queers that fight back, right on.

Ok, thats my spiel.

My wife has a friend from highschool that turned out to be a lesbian... they sort of kept in touch since we live in the same area.  Turns out the girl finally decided she wants to be a man.  She started taking hormones, so she grew a beard and her voice got deep. You would not be able to tell she was a he.  Now, as far as a "package", she is looking a surgery for something like $80K to get a passable looking member.  Why??? You've got to realize these kind of people are just mentally whacked in a certain way.

{flamesuit on}

A cross-dresser is someone who derrives sexual pleasure or takes enjoyment in dressing like a woman/man. But at the end of the day is secure in/accepting of  their sexual identity as a man/woman. It's like a hobby for many.

A Transexual is someone who has a disorder known as gender disphoria. From birth they have seen themsleves as the opposite gender internally. A transexual is fighting a war inside that cannot be easily dealt with. The fact that your external gender does not jibe with the way your brain is wired leads to gender disphoria. The 50/50 stat with gender disphoric people is a scary one; by the age of 30, 50% of GD people will commit suicide due to depression. It is a real thing.

Some of you will flame me for this and remain closed minded. Too bad for you  I say. But as someone who is gender disphoric, I assure you that it is not a choice. It is something I have been dealing with since I can remember. (3 years old) My brain is not wired in the typical male fasion. I even have elevated levels of estrogen in my blood. I have been getting help with couselors and support groups and I know I need to make tough decisions soon. I pray that I can be as strong as Lockem's neighbor.

Lockem, this person is your friend. You should just accept it and remain his friend. The more people that accept it, the easier it will be for him.

Just make sure that he does not become a pissy socialist asshat that feels the need for a government program for every societal problem. Oh, and make sure he doesn't vote for Kerry the gun grabber. Otherwise be a good friend. He won't "like" you like some people seem to think. Gay men like Gay men. And in my world lesbians dig hot chicks.   {/flamesuit}

I know of two local guys that have had the surgery to become women. The first guy is an older brother(sister now) of a classmate. He(she) is several years older than me and I don't think she remembers me. A friend of mine says she was an ugly man and now she is an ugly woman. She is in law enforcment in a local city. We went to the same high school and worked at the same place(along with 10,000 other people), if she spoke to me I would treat her accordingly.
The second guy to have the surgey was a childhood friend whose father was in the Navy. His family moved in and out of the area several times thru our childhood years. He was a close friend during the school years and I still consider him/her to be a friend. If and when I run across him/her around the city, I'll speak to him/her and treat him as an old friend. Life is too short and friends too few to lose one over them making a personal choice that has no impact on me! "New friends are silver, but old friends are gold and can't be replaced".
I've lived within 6 blocks of where I live right now for the past 50 years and have known all kinds of people. I worked at a local shipyard that employed over 13k people at the same time and worked with those who had comitted almost any crime you could think of. If you live long enough and pay attention, you see it all.
My advice to you? If the guy is your friend now, he'll be your friend later. Sex doesn't have anything to do with your friendship. I don't screw my friends.

These gender changers never turn out right, they always look messed up, and sometimes you cannot tell their sex.

It becomes very problematic when they are in a jail that houses men and women, because the men and women always have to be seperated.  What a pain in the ass.  Be happy most of you will never have to witness a man with breasts doing a table dance for other men and then have to break it up.

I'll play. Over 10 years ago in Houston (Montrose, for those in the know), I had a neighbor I

became good friends with. He was a cocaine attic...a shooter. One of the nicest

guys I've ever met. A real "manly" guy. Well, one day months after hanging-out with him,

I go over his place, and he's dressed like a woman! He was waiting for a friend to come over

and was obviously embarressed I saw him in drag. He admitted he was gay and a cross-dresser.

I was shocked!!! That bastard never even hit on me

I hope you are successful in your endeavor.  I'm not particularly fond of gays but I understand that they face a lot of conflict and personly wish they could find absolute resolution.

Good luck.  Gay or not, thanks for supporting the 2nd Amendment and our President in his fight to remain the rightful leader of our free land (-Kalifornia and Illinois).

I worked with a guy that was a transsexual.  He was waiting on the surgery, but had to dress and act like a woman for a year before he was eligible.  He would come to work every day dressed as a woman.  The first obstacle was which restroom he was going to use.  As open minded as everybody was about his condition they were very closed minded about who was sitting next to them in the next stall.  He was eventually told to use a single seater mens room.  He was a dark haired guy and always had a 5 o'clock shadow so didn't make the best looking woman.  I'm thinking, if life was hard as a guy, this isn't going to be the solution.

One other thing, when it came time for him to get tits I hope he got some big ones.  Maybe that will kind of offset that 5 o'clock shadow a little.
