hey everyone, i was not really sure where to post this question but i figured that someone here must know. i have always loved the mp5. can these now be purchased semi-auto since the awb is gone from a normal shop or is it a class 3 with the short barrel and all? thanks, and if you know cost that would help too.

Yep, you can buy a US made clone now. Todd at Ohio Rapidfire makes a nice one.

You'd still have to go through the NFA to get it registered as an SBR.

Unfortunately, not really.

An HK94 (semiauto MP5) is still banned from importation.

Ohio Rapid Fire is making a good copy from what I hear, but it has the long barrel. If you want the short barrel, you have to pay a $200 tax and go through the ATF.

There are long barreled, semi auto versions. they are kind of rare

But you could own one before the ban too.

A guy from Title2.com is running a group buy on ORF recievers right now, then you send the receiver in to be made into a rifle.

You'll have a tough time finding a loophole that would allow one in CA.

The MP5 is a great gun isn't it?

I don't know if I would be happy with anything less than the real thing........but that would be pricey.

in the $10-12,000 range, from what I have seen.

Oh well.

I am from Kalifornia, but im moving to the United States of America pretty damn soon, so i want to have my shopping list all ready, cause the day i land in the U.S. im going to a gun store. Moving to Vegas pretty soon, on my next trip over there im going to get my CCW. so right now i realize i cant have anything like that.... but very soon. anyone know price for a long barreled or short barelled? i know add $200 for the short. thanks for all the help
