Didn't the US media have a tantrum over terrorists and women's underwear? Looks like they like it.

Iraqi security forces captured a suspected terrorist operating on Baghdad's
blood-soaked Haifa Street - cornering him today in a cupboard as he was
disguising himself with his wife's underwear.

Five other suspected insurgents were also taken into custody as US and Iraqi
forces clashed with rebels on the main street, said Colonel Mohammed
Abdullah.

Acting on tips by local residents, Abdullah said Iraqi security troops
backed by US forces caught Kadhim al-Dafan as he hid out in his home. The
suspected terrorist reportedly told Abdullah he was hurriedly trying to
disguise himself with his wife's underclothing.

Abdullah, an Iraqi National Guard commander, said Kadhim was believed to be
a key leader in the Haifa Street neighbourhood, responsible for setting off
car bombs and other terrorist acts.

The area is a major insurgent enclave and the scene of recent fighting and
sweeps by US troops to net rebel leaders.

The commander said his troops also uncovered large caches of weapons,
ammunition and explosives secreted between graves of the nearby Sheikh Omar
cemetery.

It wouldn't suprise me if there was an SOP among the insurgents , that if they are captured, to be wearing women's undergarments for the cameras, to help generate more animosity against
coalition forces, " abu-gharaib" style.
It further wouldn't suprise me if there was a news story in the next day or two about more American prisoner abuse, featuring 8" X 10" glossies of the crossdressing insurgent.

Doesn't make much sense if disguise is all about outward appearance. May be a tactic like you say. Anyway, they've got their oddballs too.

wouldn't a muslim's wife's panties be like equivelent to US ARMY issue underwear, I can't think that they would allow G strings.
