Don't the Israeli's themselves consider it occupied territory? I don't believe it is considered part of Israel proper, is it?
And parts of the West Bank and Gaza have been given over to "the Palestinian Authority" or whatever it is called (under that unspeakable bastard, Arafat), right? So while "Palestine" isn't a country, there definitely is some kind of "palestinian" entity out there - that to a certain extent even the Israelis acknowledge. So if you had to call it something, what would it be? "Unspecified and Non-Soverign Land Area next to Israel and Populated by Arabs" sounds kind of long-winded. I have to admit, I don't really care, and am not particulary outraged or anything. |

Well, look at poor Taiwan -- unless they changed it in the last few days, it's listed as "Taiwan, Province of China".
If you have to qualify its listing, it should be "Taiwan, Republic of China". And China should be "China, Provinces of Taiwan". "Cuban Soviet Socialist Republic", anyone?? |
