Let's not forget the other great battle that ended today. Two years earlier in 1942.

Anybody want to guess where it was and why it is perhaps even more important than D Day.

The failed raid at Dieppe, although devastating the allies learned from it and the Germans did not learn as much. The lives lost by the men saved numerous casualties from repeating during Operation Overlord.
