We have been told several times in recent months that the US has a huge backlog of un-deciphered messages intercepted from potential terrorists.   It is also said that some of these messages may contain information that is very important in our current fight with terrorism.  Supposedly, we are not making headway deciphering these messages because we cannot find people that speak the languages to decipher them.  How can this be?   There are millions of people in the USA with middle-eastern ancestry that surely are multilingual in the necessary tongues.   Is it that we don’t want to pay them?   Is it too hard to background check?  Are these folks not willing to help?   Any insights here???
