Just wonder if you could modify the feed lips on a 9mm UZI mag to work in a 45ACP Uzi. The only 45 mags that I've seen on the market for the Uzi is the 16rnd. mags, I assume that this is the 20 rnd. 9mm mag with modified feed lips. If they use the same body then the 25,30 and 32 rnd. mags could be modified to work in the 45acp gun now that the AWB is over and you can "manufacture" mags again.

I think they take the same mags, just the gun is different. I'm still waiting for an "expert" to chime in on this thread. Come on people, talk to me.

Called Vector Arms and was told that the 45's and 9's use the same mag body. So I can open up the feed lips on the 9mm mags and get a higher cap mag then the "standard" 16 rnd. mags that are normally sold for the 45acp gun. WoooHooo.

Would you really get a higher capacity? .45 is a lot wider than 9mm.

BTW - the .41AE Uzi mags are interchangeable with the .45 - a 20 round .41AE is a 16 round .45 mag

my .45 AR mag is a .41 UZI, and you'll be doing good to get 12 rounds in it, not that they wont fit its just a real bitch

How many rounds of 45ACP do ya'll think I'd get into a 32 round 9mm Uzi mag? Do you think I'd get 22-24 rounds?

The 41/45 mags are of a single stack-single feed design. The metal is very thin at front to rear to accept the std 1.260 Max OAL of the 45acp.

The 9mm mags are of a double stack-double feed like an AR 15 mag. The 9mm mag lacks interior front to rear length to accept the 45acp.

The magwell on the Uzi will take either mag, it is the bolt-mag-barrel combo that makes the caliber conversion (std 9mm to 45acp is swap bolt to 45, swap barrel to 45, and use a 45 mag).

I just tried to stuff 45ACP in my 9mm Uzi mags
It doesn't fit.

Edit: The OAL of the 45ACP cartridge is too long. maybe flat nosed bullets would work, but FMJ does NOT.

I dont think it would work. if you have a 40 kit you can use the 9mm mags though
