Ouch. Didn't the same happen to the liners that hit the towers? And all that took were girders and drywall.
Any after pics of this test? The announcer said smthing about the wall absorbing energy, I imagine by disintegrating. Wonder how much was left after the impact. |

Downloaded and sent to work so I can show this to one of the guys I work with one who sent me a link to one of the fairy tale sites. I had seen this test on TV and when I told him about it he would not believe me. |

They could have given me that plane if they wanted to. I'd have taken good care of it even if I would have had to take a loan out from the bank just to gas it up once! It'd be very interesting to carefully remove all remaining concrete debris and just evaluate what's left of the plane. What single part came closest to surviving? Crash analysis is a fascinating subject. CJ |

Hey, Sandia National Labs did that test, well at least there are pictures of it in one of their brochures. It says that the test was used to validate the forcing function model used in design of nuclear facilities. Maybe I should ask them about it during my interview with them tommorow.
