I'm waiting for my first one to come in at the dealer. The wait is killing me, and to make it worse, I have no idea how long it will be.
Oh. I see. How many handgun battles have you been in? |
No shit! |

Ruined!!!!!! |

That thought does have some merit I guess, however ParaOrd has a huge variety of highcap 1911s if capacity is a concern. Nevertheless, rather hit with one, than miss with 12. |

Quote from Frogman, SEAL operator at tactical forums.
"Folks, it's just this simple, for me. Out here, sometimes you can see more clearly and for me one of those things is this: I want a good reliable thugging pistol. I have a comprehensive collection of the major martial handguns in service today, and access to all the rest. I'm not going to clutter up my one "go to war bag" with fluff gear anymore. Unless I'm burrowed into a hide (where a suppressed Mk 23 is an excellent hide defense weapon) I think I'd rather have a good M1911 than any other handgun." |

mtechgunman,
You should have started this thread 3 posts ago on your 1911'th |
Time for you to buy a new one don't ya think? SGatr15 |
I tried to, but the weirdest thing happened. I clicked the submit button, and it told me to wait 25 seconds before posting. then i waited, and clicked it again, and it said the page cannot be displayed. I tried for about 5 minutes to get it too work, and each time, it told me to wait for X amount of seconds. I hadn't been posting at all during the time so it got me thinking, that someone, somewhere somehow, got into my logon. Guess i had better start logging off up at school. I had been waiting for this for sometime now, so it kinda pissed me off. It's ok now though, because i took a chew. |
Why? It's just gettin' broke in. |
I love my SA Loaded.
I need to take a real picture of it, but it looks just like the one on their web site. http://www.springfield-armory.com/images/pistols/PX9151LLarge.jpg |
Mtechgunman, what model SA is that in your first pic at top? It's sweet.
That is one fine firearm. Is that yours? Sweet! Nice trigger too! |
if you are talking about the actual pic, then it is the Mil-spec. If you are talking about the link, it is the Rob Leatham edition (which = $$$$$) |
I wish it was mine. I got the pic over at 1911forums.com. |
From what i have heard, They are both excellent handguns. I can only speak for SA, because i haven't shot any Kimbers. It is probably different for everyone. |
IMHO Kimber, but Springfields are very good too. |
Nope... One year |
Hmmm, looks kinda Californicated, if ya' know what I mean. And I think that ya' do. It's FABulous! |
that sucks, SA has a lifetime warranty |
I got a Kimber on an impluse buy, I like the gun but one day may sell it, it doesnt appeal to me that much
What would you replace it with? |
LOL - Rouser of Rabble!!! Actually Kimbers don't NEEEED a waranty - because after the year is up, they no longer break. I've had the opportunity to fire my buddies SA Milspec and its very well made. I honestly believe that you couldnt go wrong with either for a nice 1911. Whew. |
What model is it? |
I have a stainless Commander with about 8,000 rounds through it and the only part I ever replaced was the extractor. I replaced it with a Wilson Bullet Proof extractor and it works flawlessly. I am considering another 1911 and from what I have seen Springfield is turning out a very nice product, but for some reason I am being drawn to the Kimber. I have a friend that was going to get a Kimber, but because of price he went with a Springfield, SS, Champion. To date the gun had been sent back to the factory 4 or 5 times, and Springfield finally replaced the gun. I don't why the original gun had so many problems and wouldn't stay running consistantly, but I know he is happy with the replacement. I do remember the dust cover on the Springfield being stamped "Brazil." Perhaps that had something to do with the quality. I was also told that custom Springfield guns are 80% American parts and 20% Brazilian parts, and the more widely produced production guns are just the opposite at 80% Brazilian and 20% American. I never really researched it much further than that because I have been leaning towards the Kimber or possibly another Colt. Perhaps someone could shed some light on the issue..... |
somehow, i just knew this was coming!!! Can't go wrong with either? Anyone else care to share some pics? |

Here is the Arfcom Kimber Photo Gallery
We have a perfectly good Handgun Forum that gets very little use. Come on over and post guys! ARFCOM HANDGUN FORUM |

BP Ten II. Nice enough gun but has the issue of expensive mags. Im trying to think what pistols I want to keep and Im doing the same with rifles, trying to clear up some space. |
Don't worry about the warranty on a gun, so long as its a reputable manufacturer they will almost always fix it for free. I imagine its cheaper to fix a couple hundred guns than pay out on one lawsuit where someones gun failed and he died.
Mr. Gunman, I thought I already explained to you that M1911s are shit!
Fixed it for ya. |

The frames are made in the Imbel plant. They always have, they just didnt have to be marked like they do now. I have three early Springfields. One has 50,000 plus rounds out of which I have replaced a grand total of one diconnector. That happen to be a Colt part that a smith replaced to get a better trigger. The second has maybe 2500 rounds the third 300 or less. The internal parts are made with sinnistered [sp?] metal now. I cant say if that is better or worse by expierence. I heard they were better. |
