Being the die hard do-it-yourselfer.... it was long overdue to fix the floor in my Jeep Wrangler.

Started pretty ugly:

Cut out the rust, and welded in a new floor pan on the drivers side.  Scuffed up all the paint, then "washed" it with acetone.

Bought some Herculiner at Auto-Zone... about $100 for the "kit"

Very happy with the results.  No more carpet for me!

Did you use the roll-on stuff or the spay on stuff?  It looks good to me.

Used the roll on stuff.... its cheap.  I have looked at so many others who have done it, and it really holds up well.  If you ever scar it.... it touches up easily.....

Looks good - I may have to do the same thing to my Land Rover.  I want to rip up the carpet and put in RhinoLiner, but this stuff looks a lot cheaper than that.  Thanks for the post - you may have just saved me a ton of money!

Can you add dye to it to change the color?

The roll in stuff is not as tough as Rhino, or Linex.  However, this is the inside of my Jeep, and I want rust repair/protection first and firemost, and abrasion resistance second.  I can touch it up myself.... and its way cheaper.  I think its the way to go for the Jeep, and start to finish does not take long.  I think Rhino costs about $400 to $500 for getting the tub of a Jeep sprayed... and they dont get into every nook and cranny like you can with a brush.....

This is gonna work great for me.  I am about to do the seat frames tomorrow, and then re-assemble and pick up some new Bestop seats for her.

I thought about it long and hard.  Even went and looked at a guys jeep who has red liner.  I decided the red liner just looked a little cheap.... I mean, it has a good look by itself... but mine looks more customized in black.... I think it will be better in the long run..... all that red gets annoying.  I'd rather have the colors broken up a bit.

Tho I will say, if I had a newer jeep, and was going to run carpet most of the time, I would probably look to use the same color as the jeep tub........  so if I was doing a TJ, that ran carpet when it was a DD, and out when offroad, I'd try to match the bedliner if possible.

I dont know.  I know they sell red, gray, and black tho.  Surely you mix those compounds.... and make some color from that if you wanted.
