I need to run an advice colum around here about buying cars.

66 month lease is beyond a bad idea.  Thats what happens when you get blinded by payment.

Lease for how long?  Shit you could have bought that thing over and over.  You can get a nice F150 for little over $200 over 24 months right now.

At, say, %3.9, what's wrong with 66 months?

Idle curiosity...sorta

I don't mind the timeline, if that's the problem.

Edited to add, took a loss on a vehicle traded in 2 times ago...basically came in flat even by now, thank God.

Further edited: Didn't catch the "lease" bit in the original post...erk. Yah, that's bad, for a lease. Way bad. You could have leased a Ferrari for that...

39 months is about as long as you should lease.  I would never lease beyond the cars factory warrenty.  So stuff like BMW's that have a 4 year warrenty and free service, I would have no problems leasing for 48 months.

My trade had some problems that were going to cost me around two grand in the long run , now I have a vehical that is covered bumper to bumper for the next 5 yeas and no   deductible if the work is done at my dealer.

As one who has leased before, DON'T DO IT!!!

Never again.

Make sure you do not run over on your mileage, you will get raped at turn in time.

Leases are not a very good idea, especially for an individual.

Check out what this guy says about them:

First of all, leases use a money factor.  Not an interest rate.

Nissan is a FRENCH owned company, so good looking out there.  Way to support the frogs.

The problem with 66 month leases is the length.  They are very hard to trade out of.

You are at least $8000 buried right now.

What happens if you go way over on your miles?  You get fucked.

You will have to pay for 2 sets tires.

You will have to repair a truck that you are renting if anything happens after your warrenty expires but lease is still going.

Need more?

And to whomever mentioned the Ford F150 deal for $200.00 , correct me if I wrong but that is a two wheel drive single cab, I was offered a deal like that , Ford also gave me a 379.00 month lease for 60 months ona 4x4 ext cab with no power group.

$200 for a F150 2wd normal cab.  But power everything else.  Its though work so it may not be available to everyone for the price exactly.

3= Mexico.  Thats off my AMERICIAN CHEVY truck VIN.
1=US and thats for my BMW that was made in SC.

There is no longer American or Japanese, God knows where they are made.

If you  take out my roll over from my Jimmy , I end up paying around $18000 on the lease. The sticker was $26500 so I don't see how I am paying for it over and over. Remeber If I had kept me old truck, that is long out of warrenty and having some problems that would have cost me another two grand to fix.

Sticker :$26,000

Trade in : owed $9,250 + 2,000 repair on a truck that booked at $5,000

I know, thats why I want him to go to his states AG website to see...NV and Cali have one, Ohio might also.

I think you need to follow the advice above!  You want to buy, not lease.  Pay the stinkin' $ 15.00 and get the dealer's cost plus holdbacks from Consumers Union.  The Nissan is rated average for reliability, not above average like the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado.  Extended warranties are a scam and you can always buy them for much less on  your own if you must have one.  If you keep a vehicle longer than three years, you're better off buying rather than leasing.  CU 2004 buying guide:  "This compact pickup is fairly crude.  An optional supercharged V6 adds some oomph but whines annoyingly and guzzles fuel.  Handling is cumbersome and the ride awful."

Get off the guys ass. He was very happy about his  new truck and wanted to share it with us. As far as reliability, I'd put my Frontier up against your new Chevy or Ford anyday. All Frontiers are  made in Tennessee. Been that way for some time. Does anyone know of  someone that has gotten the 0% financing from Ford or Chevy? I don't . It's a gimmick to get people to the showroom.

Makattack , thank you,  you  are the first person who has not made me feel like throwing up , I checked around , I could not touch a Toyoda for anthing under $400 , I don't need a F150 or 1500, and the rangers wont fit a car seat. I know people with $450 @ 72 month. I'ed like to know what deals these guys are getting that are better than mine , other than the lengh .

Sorry, but you got taken. 66 payment for a lease?

Take it back and buy something you can afford and pay off in 3-4 years.

Sticker Price doesn't mean anything when you are renting a car. It's a sweet deal for the dealer, you pay to use their car, you pay for maintenance, then when you turn it in they bend you over on the "reconditioning costs" which I've seen vary from $500 to $3000 depending on the condition of the vehicle. The longer you rent the vehicle the more wear and tear the vehicle will have, and you will pay for. After all of this you turn the vehicle in and have nothing to show for 66 months of payments! If you ever need to get out of the lease, you probably need to take out a loan to do it.

Don't take it personaly that you made a bad move, lot's of people are uninformed.

I'd think that if Mr10anahaf didn't want feedback, he would not have asked for it.  Think of this experience as a $22,000 education.  If you insist on a "mini" truck, Here are the ratings in order descending quality and reliability for "Crew Cab V6 4WD:   Ford Explorer Sport Trac, Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, Toyota Tacoma Double Cab (checkrated), Chevrolet S-10 Crew Cab, GMS Sonoma Crew Cab, Nissan Frontier Crew Cab.

04 Crew Cab 4x4 with 14miles
Lease payment for 66 month @ $337.29 a Month

I purchased a extended warranty , full bumper to bumper for the life of the lease And Rolled over $3200.00 negative equity from my old vehicle. This truck is pretty damn cool IMHO. Does anyone else have a Frontier, if so how has it worked out?

Thanks !

Mr10anahaf you are a smart man.... The first rule of a savvy businessman is to: "Lease items that depreciate.... and BUY items that appreciate."

Motor vehicles depreciate rapidly... Therefore you made the right choice.

Congrats and good luck....

Good luck.....
