You know, we've seen some pretty rough statements around here concerning our terrorist enemies and their supporters. "Kill them all" has become a bit of a mantra.

I know I'm guilty of it. Hell, I even had a thread trashed for it!

But today I was listening to Rush (over my dad's incessant yammering ), and I heard an interview with an Iraqi child, as well as reports that state that the majority of Iraqia, "and especially children", are overwhelmingly supportive of our efforts there and in fact LOVE our troops!

Obviously, we NEVER read or see that here, so I wonder....

Is our fury at these people as a whole really caused by their apparent non-chalance/support toward the terrorists, or is it made to LOOK that way by the media, and thus throws us off?

Sometimes, I feel as if we're being duped by our own side, and that as a result we are becoming worse than the terrorists.

What say ye?

It affects my bloodpressure every time I watch the news!  And to think, most people actually BELIEVE everything they see on television!

Yeah, it seems like we NEVER get to hear about anything positive going on overseas. But then that wouldn't fit in with the liberal media's agenda, would it? Kerry's stil going to lose the election in a big way, despite what  Dan Rather and the other media whores are trying to do. What I REALLY can't understand is how the libs think the conservative right has the media in THEIR pockets!!!! Has anyone else heard that shit other than me?

Yeah, but how much of that do you think drives us to the "kill 'em all" mentality?

If we knew the whole truth, would we be so universal in our fury?

Somehow, I doubt it...

Its the way the terrorists kill victims.
Cowardly.
No honor.
Plus the fact that th ROP is almost
silent on this.

But ARE THEY, or does it just SEEM that way because of the media?

THAT'S the trick!

I think we may have been bamboozled by these creeps, and some of us (me included) have become what we hate!

Ever since the Vietnam War, the news media has ceased to report the news, rather they now create the news. But the news media folks are living in the past. Before, when they reported the news, no one can dispute it easily, but today with the internet, it takes only a few hours to tell that they were fibbing. And many times, for example on this forum, we read things that haven't even got to the mainstream news media.

Its a fact that the media is biased towards the left.
I think the best way to find out what is really going on,
is to either go to the source, meaning Iraq, or read Iraqi
blogs and maybe even correspond with them.
And yes, they do bambozzle the viewers.
I no longer watch tv news except for FNC occasionally,
and I don't read the daily leftist socialist fishwrappers.
Internet, baby.. All the way.

I've seen the media work on my best friend in a very scary way he's probably not cognizant of. and I haven't brought to his attention

He's basically a saint, but his favorite magazine is Maxim, which is a mild version of Playboy that celebrates consumerism and frat boy sexuality.

When he gets drunk, it's like I'm getting a stream of Maxim's message through his speech.  He talks about getting with bitches, partying and living it up and making money..........this isn't him at all.  And then I see all these subscription copies of Maxim around his place, and I start to see that just by reading this magazine, it changes basically the sweetest saintliest guy (and he's something like 28 years old, and has had several serious relationships with women he's not naive) into a crass "nicka", for lack of a better word. Well, I dont lack a more descriptive word but it's not PC.

It was extremely shocking and eye-opening about the power of media and the lure of the material world.
