I am thinking about doing some trading (not weapon for weapon) is there any legal issues selling or trading guns in your name???

I have sold some, but only to someone I know... just wanted your input

Not really.  If it get's used in a bad way and the po po come knocking and you have nothing to hide, just tell them who bought it.  I have sold quite a few at gun shows and other private sales.  I collect basic information.  Name and drivers license.  If the buyer doesn't want to give that info, they don't buy my gun.  I don't sell paper trail free.  If it's a meet and greet I jot down plate info.

Why would you ever sell a gun?

I do, but only people I don't know.

ARFCom members I don't know personally, but if they have a higher post count, then I usually have no problems.

Reason being, the first gun I sold, I ended up hearing later on that he got into drugs bad. Hopefully he pawned off the gun for money than used in a bad way. Though it's hard to jump a guy with a 20" A2.

Anyways, always glad I got a "bill of sale" from him. Cops come to my door, just hand them the paper.

I sold all my pre ban weapons late lat year and early this year.  I only miss Vietnem era SP-1 triangle furniture and a SPAS-15.  But they funded some worthwhile purchases.  Now that the ban is gone I feel like it was a good move financially.
