EU bans girl-only ads

WOMEN will no longer be able to advertise for same-sex flatmates under new EU equality laws.

The rulings will make it an offence for home-owners to stipulate whether they want men or women in their houses.

Critics fear it will spark a shortage of accommodation if widows, divorcees and groups of singles drop plans to take in lodgers.

And they claim hostels for battered women will be forced to take in MEN as well as women.

The plan is part of a European Commission anti-discrimination directive.

The commission insists the ruling, which bans all forms of discrimination, “must be ensured in all areas”.

But yesterday furious peers warned the rules go too far.

A report by the House of Lords EU Committee warned the laws were unworkable and demanded exemptions for women’s refuges and people letting rooms.

Government has said this does not apply to 'Private Transactions' ie taking in lodgers and flatmates here in Britain, so the EU can take a flying fuck… their stupid law cannot be enforced here in Britain.

EUROPEAN UNION COULD 'SPLIT' OVER CONSTITUTION

THE EUROPEAN Union could be destroyed by divisions over plans for a new constitution, the world's most influential business journal declared today.

In a warning to Europe's leaders, The Economist said it was 'probable' the EU would split into rival camps if one or more countries votes against the constitution.

But it argued that such a collapse would actually be a good thing with Britain and other countries able to choose how much - or how little - they wanted to be involved.

'These referendums could throw the EU into the sort of crisis that puts the integration process into reverse or even causes the EU to split,' warned the magazine.

'The EU may indeed split. But a split need not be a dis-aster. It could lead to a multi-layered EU in which different countries adopt different levels of political integration and experiment with different economic models.'

However, the magazine added that there was also the potential for a 'darker' out-come. 'A split could cause Europe once again to divide into rival power blocks. 'That could threaten what most agree is the Union's central achievement - peace in Europe.'

The Economist's analysis is spelt out in a special 14-page report today on the state of Europe under the headline 'a divided Union'.

It argues the European Union have been gravely damaged by three core problems - economically it is falling far behind the U.S. and Asia, politically it is deeply divided on issues like Iraq, the new EU constitution and the euro and its legitimacy has been shattered by a crippling 'lack of popular understanding and enthusiasm'.

These problems have left the EU highly vulnerable at a time when it has just taken in 10 new members, including eight relatively impoverished countries from Eastern Europe, fuelling fears about immigration and cheap labour.

And The Economist identifies the controversial new constitution as the straw that could break the camel's back.

A total of 11 countries - including Britain - have now pledged to give the people a vote on the constitution.

The magazine also argues that change is necessary to stop Europe slipping further behind its rivals.

'Europe's share of the world economy is shrinking as the United States constantly outstrips European growth and the Asian economies surge ahead,' it warned.

Yup, that's why I couldn't say "sanity" because it isn't true.  There is still a glimmer of hope for the Brits but the few ones left that have any clue at all are outnumbered by the loons.

You are expected to sit while pissing in Germany too! The laws there are wierd! You can't wash your car in the street,  on Sunday you can't mow the lawn or do anything that makes noise. Also It's against the law to feed your pet outside your door… they have lots of strange laws.

Grass and shrubs should be trimmed back to the boundary fence and grass and weeds removed from between paving stones. Any rubbish left behind after dustbin/bulk rubbish collection is also your responsibility.

Snow Clearance: All pavements in front, at the side or rear of SFH on its location, must be cleared of snow by the occupant and, if necessary, grit put down. It is forbidden by law to use salt to clear snow. Children and Cycles: The German police quite often set up bicycle checkpoints where they examine the bike and test the child. Fines could be high for parents who have allowed an unsafe bike or child on the road.

Washing: Laundry may not be displayed in gardens on Sundays or public/religious holidays.

Car Washing: It is forbidden to wash cars other than at recognised wash downs which have the requisite drainage systems

Dogs: If your dog is found wandering it may legally be shot on the spot!!!!!!!!!

I do think many of their laws are odd, but it is their country and they can do whatever they want to themselves. It is when these assholes decide they can meddle in our country by endorsing Kerry or trying to ram a UN gun ban down our throats that I take exception.

As high as the taxes are in Germany, I'd expect that someone would take out my garbage, shovel my snow and wash my car for me.  But then again the Germans have, what is it, 60 paid holidays a year?

But, unfortunately, this European Union is not a union that cares about European people and enforce their rights: it is an Union that cares ONLY the rights of the EU Government, France and Germany first.

And this, imho, is IMMORAL and UNACCEPTABLE.

I still remember when, during Kosovo War, Albanian Kosovar were flooding south Italy with refugees. NO ONE in Europe was willing to help us, but they were ALWAYS ready to make remarks if we Italians didn't welcome all the refugees.

I can still recall to my mind the arrogance of the German government when INTENTIONALLY a German ship full of (supposed) Darfur refugees entered abusively inside an Italian harbour. The comander of the ship was arrested and charged to favour illegal immigration. The Ministry of Foreign Affair of Germani ammonished our government to free IMMEDIATELY the commander. Nevermind this jerk committed a crime... IMHO I would put Italian fleet on patrol and start to sink some boats... and FUCK BERLIN.

In France, instead, the Chirac govt. was refusing to deliver to the Italian justice Cesare Battisti. This man is a Red Terrorist that in the '70s cold blood murderer four people (common people... not politicians or any "imperialist" target...) . Italian justiced condemned to life imprisonement Battisti, but in the meanwhile he fled to France, where, according to Mitterand doctrine, a terrorist can find shelter if he is willing not to commit anymore any crime. This is unrespecteful toward victims, and a spit in the face of Battisti's victim relatives that, rightfully, wants to see this man in JAIL.

Last, but not least, since the EU is implementig reforms, gun laws are becaming more and more stringent. I think they fear a rebellion and they are taking (Vito113 don't be angry with me...) the British model as example.

They will never put their hands on my guns.

I agrree with you 100%, only France and Germany gain from this EU business, they can pretend they are important, not a pair of 'has beens'.

Unfortunately you are right on Gun Laws… the EU is trying to tighten up.

Fortunately Italy is one of the last bastions of Anti EU sentiments along with Britain!… I never holiday in France, Italy is much nicer, especially the women… it must be something in the water!
